Drywood termites nest inside of the wood they are infesting. They do make small kickout holes in wood to push feces and debris out of the nest. Usually local treatments or a fumigation is needed to get rid of them, and the repair or replacement of structural wood damage.
Drywood termites range in size from 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch long, can fly. There are 3 roles within the colony, worker, soldier, alates also known as reproductive or swarmers.
